AC Question

After updating the new version of s6 in may 2017.. fast charging function not working.. it takes 4 to 5 hours for complete charging.. even fast charging shown on screen but actually its not working

Welcome to the forum! There is a fast charge toggle under Battery in settings. That should already be set on by default, but check it. Assume you're using cable charging?

Had this charging issue with Nougat update on G S6. Fast charge is turned on but not functioning. Called At&t, Samsung, Google, then Samsung again. No help. I even did a factory reset. Went to Best Buy to have them "flash " the software on to the phone assuming it was buggy. They can't. The Samsung reps don't have the S6 version available. This is not isolated to a few s6's, and Samsung seems to know it's an issue but not motivated to fix it. I might even assume it was intentional to force us to upgrade to S8.

I am experiencing flakiness with fast charging on my S6 since Nougat. Sometimes I have to reconnect the cord a few times to get it to take. Also sometimes it says it is fast charging but not doing anything.

A partial workaround (not perfect but does work more times than not for me): Press the power button to turn off your screen. Place the phone flat on wherever you are going to charge it. Attach the cable. It usually will come up "Fast Charging" on the first try. Or, it will display the "You can charge faster by using..." message but when it fades it says it's fast charging.

If the screen does not turn off after a minute or 2, try again. This usually means it isn't actually charging at all.

Before leaving it alone, let the screen turn off. Wait 2 minutes or so. Tap the home button. If the charge percentage hasn't increased, reseat the cord again.
