Picked up the GS6 active Thursday and really like the device even though its a bit of an experience shock coming from Nexus 5. But to my problem. Thursday night and last night the phone fast charged no problem. Got home today plugged it in only got cable charging. Did some forum searching and checked all the common fixes, i.e. changed usb cables, checked to make sure cable plugged all the way into the charger, turned off device and turned back on, nothing seems to fix the issue. The only thing I did today that I haven't done before was that I put the phone in the pool. It never left my hand and never went deeper than 1 foot since I was not in the pool. Dunked it twice and took a couple pictures. This was at 3pm central time.

My only thought is maybe some water intrusion with respect to the mini usb port. Been nearly 4 hours since it was dunked and I would think the port would have dried out by now.

Any ideas? Back to the At&T store? TIA.

I would post underwater pictures but my post count is too low. :p

Edit: Had to run out so I took it off charger for 30-40 minutes and now that I am back it displays fast charging and seems to be charging at the faster speed now. Hope this is isn't a intermittent problem.

It could be, if water got into the port. In the future, put the phone in a plastic baggie and zip it shut. If that doesn't keep tater out, use a different brand. If you hold the plastic close to the screen it's totally out of focus, so all it does is cut the amount of light down a bit.

Never trust a water resistant phone to be water resistant. If it's in a guaranteed waterproof case, that's different. (And even then, only trust it to half the guaranteed depth, unless the "case" is a greased O-ring sealed plastic box.)

My recommendation would be, don't swim with a phone unless you don't plan on charging it for at least 6 hours from then. Let that charging port dry out.
