Well, I must say, I am not surprised at all! I leave 5G so there sits connection turned off. LTE is much better!!! At least until 5G millimeter wave / ultra wideband comes to everyone!

My 5G is disabled all the time on any phone I get that has 5G.

1) It's so unstable and the connection keeps switching between LTE and 5G

2) LTE is plenty fast to do anything, stream, download, browse. I can't imagine why would anyone need 5G speeds but that's just me.

Absolutely, I completely agree! One of the very first things I did when I setup my new phone was I went into mobile data network settings, and turned it to LTE/CDMA vs Global mode which enables the 5G radio. Until 5G is a lot more wide-spread and stable, LTE is very very good for everyone, and it's available everywhere!:D

These are my 5g speeds in the UK. Equivalent 4g from the same mast would be about 60-70 download and about 25-30 upload. Ping would be about the same. This local mast has only just been 5g enabled so may get faster over time... 1835870038.jpeg

I mean those are very good speeds as well! See, unfortunately, nationwide 5G (sub-6) isn't much faster than Verizon's LTE network unfortunately. Now, millimeter wavelength/ultrawide band 5G is where it's at, but it's also very very limited right now. I just keep the 5G radio on my phone turned off. LTE is was fast enough or me for right now, and it saves quite a bit of battery power as well!

That doesn't turn off 5G for me on Verizon. In the beginning my 5G speeds were slower but now they are about the same.

Really? If you don't go into mobile data networks and change the setting from global to LTE/CDMA that doesn't turn the 5G off for you dude? Because for me that's what did it.

I'm not sure why it works for you, however that's not the purpose of Global vs. LTE/CDMA toggle so it's puzzling as to why it works for some. Others have reported that it works for a short time and reverts back so it's not consistent to say the least.

Yeah, dude, that is really weird, I mean, for me, check out this screen shot that I just took on my phone. I mean, I'm not sure why others on other carriers wouldn't be able to disable their 5G radios, but wow... I mean Sub-6 5G isn't much faster than LTE is, that's why I've turned my 5G radio off. Once we all get Ultra-Wide Band Millimeter Wave 5G, then yeah, I'll turn my 5G radio back on. I know that Googles' feature drop of Adaptive Connectivity is supposed to remedy this issue. However, When I'm up at work, There is Sub-6 5G available, my phone automatically connects to the network, even though I'm not doing anything heavy on my phone at all. That's not supposed to happen though.
