Fastest way to start the camera and snap a pic or video?

What would be the best setup for the fastest way to capture a pic or video? Sometimes you gotta be quick when trying to catch your friends doing stupid things!

On my phone I have a shortcut to the camera on my homescreen.

Put the camera app on your homescreen. Then just open when you need to, and press the optical trackpad. Thats about as fast as it gets.

having it on the homescreen would be your best bet as mentioned above. I have both the camera app and FXCamera on there and im pretty quick to the draw

Umm...doesn't the Camera app shortcut on the home screen come like that out of the box? At least mine did. I started my phone up and there was the shortcut...on my Home screen.

And by the way, the time it takes to click that shortcut and take a pic is a lot faster than powering a digital camera up and taking a pic.
