Faulty display or bad software?

So I was stoked that my LG V20 was being delivered yesterday. Pre-ordered online through Sprint and delivered yesterday. I was pumped when I got home and got to open my shiny new phone.

So I power it on and the first thing I noticed was a pixelated line that runs across the display.... it's not all the time, it's just when some colored pixel hits a certain area it does it I think. If I boot into recovery mode it's not there. I can't run the display test because it says the command can't be found. (Can anyone else run display tests successfully?)

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about. It's easiest to see when you're in the camera app and just blacking out the screen.

Anyone else seen this? Any thoughts?

Thanks Mike. I spoke w/ some Sprint chat person and they said I could swing by a local Corp store to take care of it. I went ahead and setup an appointment for 11AM this morning to hopefully swap it out at the store. I don't want to have to wait for all this shipping crap.

Oh yeah... I've gone ahead and done factory resets through the OS and through Recovery Mode... no dice either way. It boots back up and the line is there. Arg.

Looks like a hardware fault, like a bad connection somewhere. I feel your pain several times over from something similar on a laptop.

Thanks for all the replies folks. I ran over to the Sprint store at 11AM like scheduled. They asked what I needed, showed them the line in the screen, they grabbed a new one, and I was out of there. No fuss, no mess, it was nice. So now I have a new LG V20 (again) and I'm loving it. This time, I think my only gripe would be some odd light bleed/screen pressure on the bottom edge of the screen causing some faint discoloration. I can be extremely anal when it comes to displays but I figure I'll leave this one alone. As I get older, I try to tell myself some details aren't worth the fight. LoL
