What is your favorite non root required mod (launchers for instance) for the Maxx?

Nova Launcher... I've used most every launcher at one time or another, but this seems to be the best at this time. Things do change, but it was made specifically for ICS... so there is no old legacy code... it's very clean and fast, and has a lot of options that I have seen on other launchers that I do like.

Nova Launcher + Missed It! combo since together they bring GLOBAL Badge Notifications (not just SMS / GMail / Missed Calls) which to my knowledge no other Launcher does.

All the customization it offers, especially Nova.

If you're looking for a Lock Screen that's as customizable, check out "WidgetLocker" (by the same Dev).

After reading this post i added nova and love it
Also i really like
Wallpaper wizardrii
That made adding wallpaper so easy with out having to crop our resize

I personally prefer Nova as Apex doesn't support GLOBAL Badge Notifications - they only support it for SMS / GMail / Missed Calls which I find much too restrictive.

If Badge Notifications don't matter, they're pretty much identical & with both updating pretty frequently they make sure it stays that way.

nova vs. apex?

I was having the same debate before for weeks. It was really irritating me to have these two launchers and not knowing which one to default as my home launcher. I found Apex to have more features available in the free version compared to Nova's free app, but Nova has a better performance tweak that I completely fell in love with that makes anything and everything super fast and responsive. After searching, reading through lots of reviews and comparisons, and testing both the beta versions of the launchers, I decided on buying Nova Launcher Prime basically to add all the features to Nova that would've been free on Apex while keeping the performance tweaking option. This launcher is really the best of all worlds, performance/speed, elegancy, and features.
FYI- Nova finally released a new beta, which uses the original JB source code for buttery smoothness and its features all over the launcher.
