Hi I just got an email of my return and they send me a video and the box was empty out. The only thing there was the case box and the case of the buds. Do you guys know how to resolve this issue?? I don’t want to loose almost $2000

Fedex to file a claim and samsung said they will contact me in 3-5 days. Is crazy because I took the same day a trade in to the fedex office place and that hasn’t been scanned since the 30th either So I’m worried.

Unfortunately nothing further you can do until they respond back to you .

Dang. Do you any experience how these thing work out? What if samsung denies my refund? Should I do a dispute with my bank?
I don't have much experience in this situation but if I were in your shoes I wait until both get in contact with me and based on what they say then take next steps, can't assume yet Samsung denies u or contact your bank at this point.

me just saying

best you can do is to file a claim with fedex otherwise, I doubt there is anything you can do to get your money. do you have fedex receipt from when you sent it? It should show the weight. you will need that to prove the box was not empty.

dispute what with your bank? samsung has video the box was empty. The chargeback would most likely be denied.

I have to give it shot I can’t just loose almost $2000. On Reddit there’s other people with the same issue samsung got the package but content missing with video. Something tells me is a inside job

You are going thru the horror stories on Samsung trade INS. On top of it you get to deal with Samsung customer support which sucks and FedEx customer support which isn't much better. We all cringe these stories and cross our fingers it isn't us it happens to. Even if you have pictures Samsung can say you could have filmed it or took pictures of it in the box but took it out after and sent empty box. I'm guessing that someone tried that in the past, lots of dishonest people in the country, sure Samsung has come across a lot of them.

Be polite and kiss butt for now, as someone else said if you do a dispute on the charge Samsung has video of the empty box so you probably will lose that. Good luck and keep us informed, hopefully Samsung will give you the credit.

Isn't it possible for Samsung to track this phone once it is activated ?
They didn't ask me for the IMEI number before shipping. Most people don't have their IMEI number either. You might be able to get it from the carrier but if it's already on someone's account they can't block it. So I suppose they could, but they won't put that kind of work into it, the person that owned it would have to do it.

And chances are if it was stolen is probably leaving the country and I think they can change the IMEI number also. That I'm not sure on

I'm going to weigh in with this thread. I made a lengthy post about this issue close to 1 year ago when my wife's note 20 Ultra trade in was stolen through FedEx. Samsung was going to charge me $600 and dealing with their customer service was absolutely horrendous. It also won't work to try to contact FedEx and file a claim. Initially I was bounced back and forth between Samsung and FedEx as to how to resolve the issue. Samsung told me that I would have to contact FedEx about filing a claim for a stolen package. After contacting FedEx they informed me that they could only launch an investigation for a stolen package if I was the original shipper of the item. Since Samsung generated the shipping label only they could file the claim. I tried being nice and civil for a few weeks, then became ugly all to no avail. Finally I just filed a claim against Samsung with the BBB and the issue was surprisingly resolved by upper management within a week. I meant to post a warning message in the forum about this issue right before the fold 4 and flip 4 were released just to remind everyone of what could happen but I never got around to it. I really don't understand why Samsung still uses FedEx for shipping. I even asked Samsung reps why can't customers just use their own shipping services? At least that way we could insure packages ourselves against theft. My advice from now on to anyone who uses Samsung's trade in program is to NOT use it. Go through best buy or sell your old device on swappa or ebay instead. However, if you just can't resist those high trade in values and decide to keep using them I would record yourself packing up your item INSIDE the FedEx store and handing it to one of their representatives.
