Fell in water for a few seconds, any suggestions?

I know there are already a lot of threads like this but i just wanna make sure i'm not missing anything. My phone fell in water for a few seconds. It had a bumper and a front & back xtremeguard. I repeatedly held the power button to shut it off but it came back on. After a while i let it come on completely then powered it off normally.Right now it's sitting in the middle of a huge jar of rice because i couldnt find zip lock bags. Any suggestions of things i could do to help revive it? Everything looked fine when it came on.

When I saw the thread title I was going to suggest a jar of rice. I would say you're doing the best thing right now.

Leave your phone in the jar of rice overnight. The water from the phone would be absorbed away.

You should leave it for at least 3 days before trying to turn it on again. One day is not enough.

Actually i left the phone off in the car for about an hour and a half then came home and put it in the jar.

The rice probably won't fit in the sim slot anyway so either way should be fine....

So after a day & a half (I was too eager) i finally took it out. Turned it on and BAM everything works. No water stains no nothing like water never touched it. And the water indicator behind the sim tray is still white! Thanks to everyone for their help!
