Few issues with new s8

Hey all, had my s8 for 2 days and ive noticed when i lock it whatevers on the screen turns greyscale for a split second before it locks, is this right? I tried a factory reset but it still does it.

Secondly sometimes when i unlock it via fingerprint the screen seems to jump or pop when it gets to the homescreen. I tried to record it and upload it but dont know how to upload videos from my phone. I cant seem to replicate it but it happens enough for it to be a little annoying. I tried a 3rd factory reset but to no avail.

Its hard to explain what it is, its like the screen refreshes. Ive made sure im not holding any buttons amd made sure my hands arent touching the side of the screen.

I think its always on display related as when i turn it off it seems to be working okay.

Is there any kind of lag when you see this gray-ish screen, or is it kind of a split-second thing? When the phone screen goes gray-ish when you lock it, does this happen with any specific app being open on the screen?

You've done a few factory resets I see, which would have been a suggestion. Are you using any launchers or have you recently changed to a specific Samsung theme?

Hey thank you for the help. No lag its just a split second thing and every app ive tried and the home screen. Standard touchwiz no launchers. I changed it to a non animated theme but tried a few animated and non animated and same problems still occur

No problem! Hmm... I'm no expert, but perhaps the split-second gray-ish screen is supposed to happen? I'm really unsure. I tried unlocking and locking my phone to see if it too did anything like that.

If you still experience these issues, you could always bring your phone back to where you purchased it; and inquire about your issues with the sales reps. Or you could contact Samsung customer service first, and see what they suggest. These may just be little things that will go away with ensuing updates; or Samsung may suggest adjusting screen brightness or other things that may minimize them.

Will do. Ive seen 2 instances of the greyish screen online but none about these weird popping with always on display. Going into a samsung experience shop tomorrow where i bought it to see if they know. Thank you

Great! Show them the issues you are having and perhaps they can power up one of their display models to compare and contrast. Keep us informed on what happens!

I checked the greyscale issue on the display models and it was the same. The weird popping is apparently the apps opening up. It doesnt do it when AOD is off though so might take it back if it carries on being annoying. It also doesnt do it all the time so im a little worried that something is wrong.

if u post a video about it then maybe we'll understand the issue better....or u can just get ure s8 exchanged...who knows might be a hardware problem

How long have you had the phone? You can always exchange it, as mentioned above by another user, if you are worried.
