I am rooted. ON EA28 and running a stock rooted phone.

1. When I boot into recovery, my screen is blue and I choose the update.zip and it takes me to the green Clockwork Recovery screen. Is this what it is supposed to do? I am coming from an INC so this is new to me. I keep seeing things about updated clockwork and different colors. Do I have the latest clockwork, how do I know? What is the red, yellow stuff?

2. I get a very weak wifi and reception signal. With my other phones in my dorm, I get full bars but with the Fascinate I barely get a signal. Any way to fix this?

Here is the answer for you two and anyone else who wants to go directly to red cwm and not bother with blue recovery. Right click on this link, choose "open in new window" and save the .tar file to your computer

http://db.tt/6dZUc7d

Connect your phone to your pc with debugging on, pull down notification bar, click on usb connected, click grey "connect usb storage" below green droid. When auto play pops up, click "open folder to view files", when the window opens delete update.zip from there. If you haven't already seen this part and done it, download this update.zip to your clockworkmod folder, go into the clockwork mod folder and delete recovery-update, rename this update to recovery-update:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

Now on your phone, click the grey "turn off" usb storage box under the orange droid. Turn off your phone, pull the battery, open ODIN on your computer, hold volume down button on phone and connect phone to pc with usb cable. Flash the .tar file with ODIN, when ODIN is done, unplug phone, put battery back in, power up, and you will now be able to go directly to red cwm no matter what method you use.

as far as signal goes i dont have a problem with mine, maybe do a speedtest and see if you actually have poor signal or just problems with the indicator i think there is a speedtest.net app , if not you can go to their website

I may have done something I didnt mean to. I didnt use odin, I was going to try this but decided not to because I am not on a windows pc to use odin, I now have a red recovery screen that says cwm voodoo lagfix recovery. What is this?

you had to use odin, otherwise how would you have gotten that.....it is a custom recovery system, its not a bad thing at all, its used to install different things on your phone such as kernels, roms, themes...etc

I didnt use odin to install the other recovery. I cant open odin on my ubuntu pc. I literally moved the update.zip, I think I chose the wrong one though. But this voodoo thing isnt bad? What makes it different.

I just flashed the regular clockwork through rom manager. I liked just having a stock rooted phone.

I don't mean stock with no root. I like having cwm for the ability to flash other roms if I choose to do so. I am back on the green cwm.

Landshark, good post!

Question. I can get to red from ROM mgr, but not from the vol+/- power or the Recovery section from the shutdown menu (EB01 sc 2.4 nv). Red comes up fine from the blue "load update".

It appears that all I would need to do is the .tar file and I should be fine. Thoughts?

Later today I will be posting a how-to thread, with exact instructions, but in addition to flashing the .tar file, you need to delete the update.zip file from your sd card. You should only have the update.zip file in your clockwork folder, renamed recovery-update to replace the one that is there now.

Something happened. I flashed a superclean rom from xda. Now when I go to recovery, I choose the update.zip and it flashes samsung and goes back to the blue recovery screen. Whats going on?
