Hello...

1) I've got a dead pixel. I've read the other threads about dead pixels but the main one was about bestbuy and I'm talking about verizon here. Will they replace a phone with a dead pixel, after the 14 days replacement period? And should I go get it replaced? It's a lot of a hassle, and it doesn't physically bother me, but now I know I have a defective screen it makes me wonder what else is going to happen. :/

2) My phone lags immediately after a boot, maybe for 2-3 minutes. Like, i'm talking after the sync and SD card preparation. It just laggs super hard core.

3) The "8 megapixel camera" looks really ****ty and takes really grainy shots. Will a market camera app fix this? Or is it the OS compressing the jpeg?

Cheersss folks.

1) I believe, assuming you can demonstrate this to VZW, they would replace the phone. Shouldn't have anything to do with 14 days. You have a 1 year warranty on manufacture's defects. Whether you want to replace it is up to you. I personally do not believe this would lead to any other issues. Just one of those things. Dead pixels are not all that uncommon.

2) I think it's fairly normal for this phone (all phones) to have slightly diminished performance within the first few minutes after boot. Just like any computer, it works better once it's had a chance to "cache" some of the often accessed data. But it shouldn't be really bad. I just barely notice slightly less performance for the first few minutes after boot. If yours is really bad you probably have an app that is causing it. Possibly by syncing a lot of data immediately after boot. You might want to look into that.

3) I don't believe you're gonna be able to do anything about the camera. It is what it is, a phone camera. However, most folks think it does quite well as a phone camera. One thing that will cause very "grainy" looking pictures is low light. The reason for this is because digital cameras like on the ThunderBolt will automatically vary the sensor "speed rating" to compensate for low light. Just like in film photography in the old days, artificially increasing film "speed rating" (i.e. sensitivity) will cause graininess (although, for different technical reasons with digital). Try a nice bright sunny pic.

Thanks for your reply.

I'll check my apps for #2. It might be my live wallpaper. And I'll try a pic in high light. most of mine have been indoors so I'll check it out
