UPDATE: After a few hours with the phone now, it still seems to stay slightly warm. I think it probably has to do with the fact that the phone is very thin (compared to my old G2) and maybe the leather back? It is something I think I could live with and might be minimized a bit by a case?
The phone is zippier now and less laggy. Chrome browser lags the worst, but that could be because of stuff loading.
I haven't noticed any touchscreen issues - something widely reported by many. That is nice.
Gonna take the weekend to play around with it and take some pictures and video.
I'm irritated about the lack of smart settings with this phone - I'm wondering if I need to buy the unlocked version (would it work on Verizon?).

I bought a black leather G4 from Verizon for full retail (I'm on unlimited data) and it arrived yesterday. My initial thoughts are:
*The phone was very warm/nearly hot to the touch when it was on. I even let it rest for a few minutes and when I picked it back up it was still hot -this was after it was just sitting on it's opening screen before anything was done to it. This is very troubling as my G2 rarely gets that warm.
*There was very noticeable stuttering and lag when trying to do things such as pull down the notification screen/menu, swiping pages, pulling up the app drawer, etc. Much more noticeable than my G2.
*The feel of the phone is different....to say the least...The corners should be more rounded or something..and the phone is almost too thin. I'm sure I could get used to it, but I'm not sure I like it...if I were to keep it I'd definitely use a case of some sort.
So after about 10 minutes I boxed the phone right back up. Rash? Maybe. But I'm thinking I'm going to send it back and maybe go with the Nexus 6 until something better comes out or some of the kinks get worked out of this thing. I may fire it up one more time as I have some breathing room be fore sending it back. I'm not looking for someone to talk me back from the ledge so to speak, but I am interested to hear the responses about the points I mentioned above. I do not mind LG's UI at all - in fact I kind of like it.
I've been using an LG G2 for over a year and have been very happy with it. It is still very quick and responsive for the most part (I am rooted and stopped taking updates which I think has helped). I was expecting to be a little more blown away by this phone. I'm pretty disappointed.
The main reason I wanted to make the jump was for a better camera and video capabilities, as well as the automatic google awesome video creations (my g2 will only make collages and animations, not the video collages that are really neat). I have a young child so pictures and video are very important.
