Fiance's S3 not updating to JB

Hello,

I don't have a Galaxy S3, but my fiance does, and when I try to upgrade to JB (through About -> Updates) it tells me something like "Service not available, try again later".. I've read online that this means you probably need your SIM card replaced. Anyone know how to fix this? Can I download the latest stock ROM and install it manually instead?

You flash it via Odin in Download mode
