File downloads multiple times

Hello! A week ago or so I downloaded a single page PDF file from a reputable site. Since then that same file downloads onto my phone several times a day (like maybe 5). It downloads fine each time, but I only needed the one copy. I don't know if it's my phone (HTC Evo LTE), my service provider (Sprint), my version of android (4.1.1), or whatever. I've downloaded files before, but they've never done this. Any ideas?

Probably you clicked on "download" several times (when it didn't start the first time).
E.g. it could happen when background data disabled and you tried to download on cell data. After returning to Wi-Fi connection it will start downloading as many time as you clicked on "download".
