File organization?

Is there any way to organize files that are downloaded to the phone? For instance, if I uses zedge.net to download a ringtone, it will show up under Music > Downloads > Unknown Artist.

If I download wall papers from the app 'Backgrounds' or 'Wallpapers', it will download the wallpapers to different directories, thus finding them is annoying and confusing.

Is there anyway to create folders on the SD card through the PC called 'Ringtones', or a Wallpaper folder under photos, etc and have downloads route there instead of having to search all over the phone and move them manually?

Thank you,

You can install the driver that came on the CD with your phone purchase, then all you have to do is plug in your phone to youe computer via the provided USB cable/charger and select "Disk Drive" from the popup that appears on your phone's screen (if your phone is locked, you must unlock it before this screen appears). The phone will then show up as a new hard drive through Windows Explorer or similar file browsing applications.

You can also download apps from the market to handle this sort of thing directly from the device on the go. I would recommend Astro File Manager.

As far as default download locations once you have created the folders you want, that would most likely vary from app to app, but try loading up the application you want to redirect and hit the menu key to bring up options and look for Settings, Preferences, etc to see if there is a customizable default download location.

you can also just connect the phone to your computer as a disk drive and go in and create the folders you're looking for and then move files into them. so, connect the phone, go to the SD card and create a folder called "wallpapers". then move all the wallpapers into that directory. this is what i did and i'm able to access them when i want to change wallpaper.

Thanks for the responses. I am familiar with doing what is stated, which would be a manual procedure. I can understand the app saving it to their own location, but what about downloading MP3's off of the web, from sites such as Zedge? When I download a sound, it seems to default to the music folder instead of being integrated into the notifications menu...

Any way to get some sort of 'smart' filtering? I know my BB did this. Any MP3 that was, say, under 30 seconds: it downloade dto the ringtone folder (it also asked me if I wanted to change where it downloaded to). Anything longer would download to music...
