Finally Did it! .... Now What?

I was finally able to root my phone with the AWESOME help of rufflez. He walked me through it step by step. The first ROM crashed on me, but I was able to install another one on my own

My question is this: My HTC clock/weather widget is gone! I loved that thing! Is there a way to get it back? Thanks so much.

You only get Sense widgets when you run a Sense ROM, AND if you're running the Sense launcher. The custom ROM you're using is probably running ADW Launcher or LauncherPro. If you need to get Sense launcher back, disable whichever launcher you're using. I'm not sure how to on whatever ROM you're using, but one easy way to do it is to download Home Switcher free from the market. Open that app and you can switch to Sense.
Or maybe your custom ROM just took out all of the HTC widgets and everything.

My HTC widgets are missing. I'm using DamageControl, and according to the site, they should be there. I tried clearing HTC Sense Data, but it didn't work.

if your running damagecontrol then yes you should have them. try clearing sense data again. after you clear hit home. you may have to wait a few minutes for it to load. if you dont see them, try a reboot, finally if that doesnt work rufflez (im pretty sure it was rufflez) mentioned using Astro file manager to goto /system/app and you can run the .apk file. i dont remember its name offhand tho. ill look and get back to you if you dont get it fixed by then.

Do you still see the curved phone launcher at the bottom of the phone? I haven't used a DC rom in a while but I thought they came with Sense as the default. When you start the phone for the first time after you flash you should have been prompted to go through the phone setup again. Did this happen?

Yes. Sense is working, just not the widgets. I was prompted to go through a tutorial. The HTC Scenes aren't working either, except for the default one, but none of the widgets show except for Sprint TV and NFL (the ones I don't use) >.<
