its called "live bookmark". download it in the market (free). I know i have seen some posts hererequesting a bookmark widget that looks like htc's, this isn't exactly like it but its the closest that I found that is similiar. give it a shot

Looks pretty sweet. I dont use bookmarks enough, but the few sites I do have bookmarked i just created a shortcut to the homescreen and placed them in a folder. quick, easy, neat. works for me :)

np. its not a bad app but i just wish they could make it a direct widget as apposed to a folder that you have to open up. i guess you can't have your cake and eat it too haha

on a side note though. If we are able to get apps from the N1 ported to the droid, how come it seems like it can't be done with the sense specific widgets? is it have to do with the UI or hardware?

It always bugged me that bookmarks were "static" - I wanted them arranged somehow. I did a work around hack -- I'd put the bookmark shotcut on my home page and then make a folder and drag and drop them in the order I wanted. Then I'd have to periodically take them out and put them back in as I'd create a new bookmark, what a pain. This app solver that issue. Thanks for the tip.

this is a great idea but not useful for me. i'd rather an icon for each bookmark. making a menu is same this browser itself does.

yes and now. yes it is basically the same format but it is faster. rather than clicking on the browser and have to wait for the address bar to load to click on the bookmarks, you can just click the live bookmarks icon and it is instant. i mean it not a huge time saver or anything but i kind of like the idea

You can just do this on your own without havinf to download a widget. Just make a folder and drag and drop the bookmark icons into it.

Yes, you can put all of the bookmarks in a folder rather easily. However, it's not very easy to alphabetize the contents of the folder. Or, once alphabetize, add one in the middle somewhere. The stock folder just drops it in at the bottom.

I appreciate your help. But, this live folder does many extra things above and beyond the stock folder settings.

Yea this is pretty sweet. Agreed it would be better as a real widget, but still a step in the right direction.

well now with launcher pro being able to do things similiar to it in on the home screen, im sure it will be available soon on a widget itself. i guess we will wait and see. im hoping gingerbread will have this included but we wont know till it gets closer to the release.

I ended up just making shortcut's to favorites on one of my screens... the icons are tiny, but otherwise it doesn't look half bad. The icon is a snapshot of the last cached page image, with a tiny official avatar for that website in the bottom corner.

Looks like if the website bookmark is a "mobile" version of the website, then the shortcut icon is just the website avatar. (not sure if that's the right terminology)
