Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

Good news! Let us know if you run into any issues.

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

I got it last night on mine. I'm still getting used to everything. I was going to use my SD card for internal storage, but it said it had to format it. I didn't want to lose everything so I went the regular route. Now there's no apps to SD function as far as I can see. Other than that, it seems my battery life is a little better and it seems the phone is a little snappier.

Never mind. I found out how to move apps with a little bit of trial and error.

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

Darin,
Can you move any app to SD or only specific ones? What were the steps you used to move the apps? TIA

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

It's only specific ones like before. You tap on the app in the menu under settings and if it's moveable there's a button. If not, no button.

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

Thanks Darin. I figured it was the same as before.

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

I was hoping it was all of them, but no luck.

Re: Finally Got Marshmallow

I just found out that if you update an app that was already on the SD card you can't move it back. Wonderful...

You will probably get it eventually. Mine didn't go to 5.1 either, just from 5.0.2 to 6.0.

I decided to have do a little research and I ended up downloading the OTA file and updating manually, my phone in particular is much faster now.

Where did you find the OTA file? And is it just a case of downloading it to the phone and searching for updates? Or does it involve fastboot?

Sadly, i have noticed that my phone lags a lot after updating to android M. Also the battery drains out quickly if i compare it to android L.
I have to wipe out cache twice or thrice a day or maybe just restart the phone the same number of times.

I'm currently on 5.0.2, what version of M is the upgrade, is it 6.0? Currently on the fence if I should upgrade or hold off. Anyone else having anything +/- to say about the new update.

Android "M" is version 6.0, code named "Marshmallow." I updated on 2/29 with no issues. Battery life appears to be better.
