Since day 1 after getting my launch day EVO i have been thinking about what a horrible design for a camera for the phone, It protrudes out awkwardly and is exposed to all kinds of potential damage. If you wanted protection for it it practically forced you to get a case (cleaver marketing strategy???). So of course i bought one and have not really looked back despite the fact i like a naked phone, the evo is big enough without a case!!!!

FINALLY some one came out with a cleaver and simple way to solve this problem, got mine in the mail today and it works great!!!!!!!!

here is the link to the product so you can check it out for yourself, amazon is the only place i could find it anywhere... check it out

Amazon.com: Cell Phone Camera Lens Protector (2 PER Box, Protects the Exposed Camera Lens From Scratches and Damage for the HTC Sprint Evo and Verizon Droid Incredible Without the Need for a Bulky Case). Easy Installation and Allows the Back Cover to

Its how you titled the thread. Finally! doesn't really grab attention. It's like the people who title their thread, HTC Evo 4G is a HTC Evo 4G forum. The only reason I opened the thread today is because I'm bored. Turned out to be something worth wile

Have you used these camera protectors yet? If so, do they effect the image quality?

Got 1 on my evo now!! It works absolutely great and since nothing is blocking the lens itself there is ZERO image distortion what so ever!!! This little thing fixes the only design complaint i have had about the evo and i would recommend it to EVERYONE who does not like using a case!!!

Its not a lens priotector per say. it goes around the lens and is a millimeter larger then the lens to prevent anything from scratching it BUT it does not protect the lens itself. Just a plastic ring that circles the lensand is a slightly larger. A good case will do the same thing. and $12 with shipping is riciculous. Now if I see this on Ebay for $1 or $2 and free shipping then its worth it otherwise a case for $2 on ebay will do the same thing. Its a good item BUT not worth $12.

+1...definitely not worth $12..instead get a decent case for $5 and you have much more protection..

try a piece of plastic say from a small flat battery and it will actually cover your lens

Honestly you have to do a lot to scratch the lens. I have had my evo since August and I only have 1 scratch on the lens. I got it when I rolled a car tire over the top of my evo when I didn't realize it fell out of my pocket.

I bought an extended battery, that came with the back cover, no more protruding camera.

I hate cases :( .... thats the reason it was worth $12 to me... i like the naked feel of a phone! i actually have a innocase for the phone (best buys premium version from launch day) I took it off when i got this.... sure a good case does the job and then offers more protection as well, but this is the way to go if you like that naked feel..... whats $12 for something that makes you happy? it may be over priced, but i really don't care!!! :)
