Android Central Question
Hi,
I have a Moto G5 running 8.1.0.
Find My Phone App is installed and has permissions to the Location Services , as does maps.
Up to about a month ago everything worked OK, if i try to find the device using a browser (Chrome, EDGE, Brave, Silk) from another device (WIN10 Desktop, Amazon Fire, Microsoft 640 phone) then I can find the device as it shows Battery and Signal icons but doesn't show the approx. geo-location on the map, the map renders and just shows the UK & Central Europe.
If it try the same process from the actual phone then it all works OK using chrome and the Find My Phone App.
If i install the App onto another android device that also works within App.
As i highlighted previously up until December this all worked OK.
I've tried the following:
1. Removing and adding the Device Admin for Find My Device
2/ Removing the account associated with the device and re-adding)
3. Ensuring that Power Save is OFF
4. Automatic Network Date/Time is enabled
I tried another App, Lookout and that works OK, I can see the geo-location from any device. It appears to be related to maps on the device.
Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
Cheers Jon
