I just got my insurance packet from Asurion and it had an insert with link to download this phone recovery program. Has anyone used it? It looks like it's based on going to a web page where you have to login to find or send commands to your phone.

I had already installed "where's my droid" . It seems to work very well when tested. Simply text or e-mail a command from any phone/e-mail and you either turn on an alarm, I get a GPS map.

Verizon was pushing this application / service when I went with a friend to look at phones. He ended up getting a Razr and the rep recommended installing this app and provided a little brochure that had more information about it.

When I got back I decided to give it a try. I have only played around a little with it but it seems to be a decent phone recovery program. I am always leaving my phones sitting somewhere around the house, so I like the idea of being able to signal an alarm to find it, regardless of my phones sound setting. The website is quick to get a location for my phone and I was able to lock the phone. Like you mentioned, all of the features are triggered from a website.

I haven't tried "Wheres my Droid" so I am not sure what features that has on it

Go to the Android market from your pc & install "Plan B" from Lookout software. It will install to your phone & start sending you its location.
