I want to try again to see if this can be fixed. I've got a Moto One Power running latest version of Android Q. How can I get fine volume control? Currently the volume level is either too high or too low. Hitting my volume button just once makes it go from too soft to too loud no matter what music app I'm in. I've looked at fine volume control apps but they're all very old and haven't been updated in years. And the fine volume control apps I tried don't work. How can I get fine volume control on my Android?

Do I need to root my phone to get fine volume control? If yes, anyone have links on how to do this?

Any one else have this issue?

Let me know if this post needs to go somewhere else. Thanks,

Here's the old thread that did not provide a solution. https://forums.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/972222-fine-volume-control.html#post6623188

You can use an IFTTT rule to set it to specific volume levels (37%, 29%, 84%, etc.). That would give you more granular control but you'd have to select the right 'trigger' for each value (or change the value of the task every time you want to change it).

Thanks for your reply. The problem is I can only set the volume levels allowed by Android. For example, my volume level on *every* app goes from 20% to 27% with nothing in between. 20% is often too soft and 27% is often too loud. There's apparently no way to set a volume level somewhere between 20% and 27%. And all the fine volume control apps I've tried don't work. The default Android volume settings override every app.

If I root my phone, can I fix this? Do you have any links for how to get fine volume control with rooting? What is the best online forum for rooting Android? Thanks, Cheers,

Can IFTTT override the Android default volume settings and provide fine volume control?
