Finger print sensor stops working when phone restarts

Hello all,

Pretty new to this and sort of hoping for some help and advice. The fingerprint sensor on my moto z stops working everytime the phone restarts, or when I switch users.
I have to delete and re-setup fingerprints each time and this has become....to put nicely, very annoying.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there some solution to this issue? Many cheers to all for chiming in....I appreciate your feedback.
