The fingerprint and facial recognition on the S21+ sucks. The phone rarely recognizes my finger or my face I usually have to go with the pattern. The iris scan on the Note 9 was better.

Hi, welcome to AC!

You have a screen protector on ?
You try register same finger 2 or 3 times ?
Try both hands index fingers see which works better.

Try pressing on the screen a little harder and maybe roll your finger a bit. I have an S21u that I added a screen protector to and I usually have to do it that way. Mine will not recognize me when I am wearing a mask but I figure that's understandable.

I just posted this issue as well before seeing this one. These features on my last Samsung and now the Ultra really do suck. I do have the screen protector but I kept reading where these won't interfere. I guess I more prefer the screen protector for obvious reasons and will just tolerate this issue.

I have found that entering the same finger multiple times from different angles helps. Make sure screen sensitivity is off when you input your finger print and then turn it on when you are done.

I have a screen protector on my regular s21 and it works pretty much every time. The only time it doesn't is when my thumb has been exposed to moisture for a period of time. Usually takes about 3 tries to work.

I did not know there was such a feature. I just turned mine on and while still not perfect it does seem to work a little better.
