Fingerprint hardware

Twice, in the past week, I have went to unlock my N8 and it has informed me that the fingerprint hardware is unavailable. It did take my back up password and i unlocked my phone with that. Anyone else have this happen? How frequent? Would **** me off if it happened when im driving.

Sounds like you need to get a warranty replacement if a factory reset doesn't correct this.

I haven't had that problem. Try rebooting first before a factory reset. It's possible the FPS drivers could be corrupted.
