Fingerprint ID

Setting up my new Honor 5x I did not chose Fingerprint ID,I went with a PIN lock.Now I would like to see if I like the Fingerprint ID,but am a bit confused how to do it?The PIN lock I would have to bypass or keep both,I don't want to mess with it and accidentally lock myself out of the phone! Not very good at this,sorry.

You can set up the fingerprint scanner and have the pin as the backup

Thanks,do you mean that I can now to like add the Fingerprint and leave the Pin as it is?So if I can not get in with the Fingerprint the Pin would override it and let me in?

Right, you can use the fingerprint as primary, then use pin as secondary.
