Fingerprint Scanner Question

I am looking into buying a LG G6 while Verizon's deal is still going on. One thing I couldn't figure out in the store had to do with the fingerprint scanner. Do you have to press the home button on the back to unlock it, or can you just place your finger there like some other phones?

You do not have to press. Just tap it.

Just touch. The button portion is kind of a holdover from when they used to put all the buttons (power and volume) on the back side of the phone. It can be used to turn the screen on or off.

OMGOSH I did not know it was a nostalgia-like button... That's so cool. Crap. Now I want this phone again. Haha.
