fingerprints now forgotten earley Alzheimerd Samsung problem or just the last update?

After the last 'security update' my S7 Edge is unable to recognize fingerprints . I tried deleting them and then redoing them three times. The same proble m occurs I tried 4 differnt fingers.. They work immeadiately afterwards but fail after the phone goes into sleep mode. Any suggestions? This is a VodaPhone Samsung S7 Edge.

Rather than spend ages on this I would back everything up and do a factory reset.
