(Firmware) first post and many questions to come

I bought my i9100 here in Thailand and my my wife also bought hers here. Her phone is an i9100T. I have updated to the latest firmware available here, but her's does not offer an upgrade. What is the difference in the two phones and why so many variants it wobbles the mind Thanks. Oh yea does anyone know when ICS will be available here in Thailand.
