First S3 Lockup

Was reviewing a video I had just taken and wanted to stop it and the phone just locked up.

Tapping the back button didn't work, neither did the home or power button.

I had to pull the battery.

I've had programs lock up the phone for thirty seconds to a minute, then the force close screen pops up and the phone is back to normal.

It might actually be faster to do a battery pull than to wait for the phone to force close the crashed app.

You may be able to still bring up the task manager. Not a guarantee, but a maybe. Then kill it from there. It still may end up needing to be force closed on its own time, but you might get lucky.

I've had 3 lockups in two days. Today I backed all the way out of TapaTalk and my dock icons disappeared. Took about 30 seconds for things to refresh and get going again.

The same thing happened twice yesterday. Don't remember what app it was. But it is a little annoying. The phone is completely unusable during that time.

Android Central app and my GS3 hate each other..... Lol... That app locks mine up but after 20-30 secs it crashes and touch wiz restarts and I'm fine.... That's how it should be too... The app should crash not the whole phone... So even with that I'm pleased

The first 3 months a phone comes out we're all beta testers. Then 3 months later phone is outdated and we all want the next one.
