I was able to use this phone for a day and come IP with some initial observations.
PROS:
Excellent camera. Better aperture than iPhone. Takes better stills than Photon or ET4G.
Excellent camcorder, the best 720p available right now.
High quality build
Clear crisp screen, good colors
Very loud speaker
Crystal clear calls outgoing and incoming
Excellent speakerphone
Sense 3.0
Great sound of musice through wired headphones
Pretty fast with only single-core process
Optimum size at 4"
World phone
1.06 GB available for apps
CONS:
Low RAM amount. Only about 169mb to work with compared to over 800mb on my ET4G.
Accurate, but slow GPS, either due to single core CPU or RAM.
Not great screen for using outdoors. Photon and ET4G are better.
Gets hot when charging or maximum use. Possibly because of aluminum uni-body design
Signal range was not as good as ET4G or Photon, but much better than EVO 3D.
I was hoping to use this as my main device, ET4G is too big and blurry text, Photon pentild display bothers me. I was looking for a 4" device with QHD display, world phone and adequate power. The biggest design flaw with this phone is the small amount of RAM that was installed. It causes severe lag when you have just a few programs running. I envisioned myself needing to kill programs to keep the phone running smoothly and I don't have time for that. That is really my only complaint with this phone. It is an awesome device for someone not interested in heavy gaming, bug more for business. After having the ET4G and Photon it is hard to accept some lag while opening programs and functions, but with more RAM I would have kept this phone.I think that 4" is the sweet spot for the size of a smart phone. Most of us might have 7 or 10" tablets to consume media on and having a smaller phone to carry around makes sense for some of us.
Non-power users could have been appeased with more RAM. This is still an upgrade from the OG EVO4G if you don't want a 3D and want a smaller screen. QHD on a 4" screen is very nice and clear.
