First time Fold "Crease" Impressions?

My new Fold 3 is the first time I ever seen a Fold in person, not even in a store did I ever see a 1 or a 2. And I have to say, I can't believe all the people (whom probably never saw one in person either) whining about the crease. It is literally a non-thing. You can barely see it, and even running your finger across the thing, you can barely feel it.

My primary phone continues to be an iPhone, because I am invested in the ecosystem. But I always had an Android as a secondary, recently a Note 20, but the Fold has blown me away so far. I have an iPad, but even a Mini is not pocketable, like this thing is. I am seriously considering making the Fold my new primary. Depending on what Apple does next month with the 13.

I am hoping I feel the same way...but then again, like you just said, I am creating a sort of "issue" with it already in my head based off of some of the reviews I have seen. I to haven't actually seen a fold in person before but like I just said its already something "on my mind" just because of the deal some of the reviewers have made out of it. I'll know 100% tomorrow when I get mine via FedEx but until then I'll make peace with myself based on your post.haha

I've seen the Flip and Razr in person, crease is there but seems like a very minor issue to adjust to.

I prefer a flat screen with square corners but have adjusted to the curved edge, round corners, and hole punch added to phones. A crease wouldn't stop me from enjoying a phone.

It has crease ?
It hasn't had a impact on me I just go about my business in the device and really don't notice it unless I look for it , I think I'll use the inside display more then outside.

Haha, I am the reverse - my primary has been Note 20 Ultra with my secondary phone being an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I don't have my ZF3 yet but I never thought of the crease as being a distraction myself. I am trying the ZF3 to see if it can be my daily driver and I am already thinking of things I think I want them to do in the next version to keep me as a fold user. I won't start finding out how much I'll love it until Friday, but the crease won't be a reason to make me hate it for sure! :)

I would love to see 1TB in the next Fold (or at least a microSD card, which is probably zero chance). Plus maybe a little wider when folded (which would also make a bigger tablet size too). But maybe weight might be too much. The iPhone 13 is rumored to have a 1TB version.

That would be one of the things - if the phone was a little wider, just a little bit even if it made it a little heavier. However, I am liking being able to reach the other edge of the phone with thumb, though. I do think that the micro sd card is gone for good unfortunately.

Another poster said that - people need to get past the psychological aspect of the crease.

The crease is part of the reason it can fold

But a lot of people don't seem to understand physics and expect a folding phone with no crease. No such thing (yet) as memory plastic/glass.

I rarely use the inside screen. If you got one you understand... Yeah the keyboard is a little bit cramped but it's not hard to use.

Lol I always use my inside screen on fold 2. Haven't got fold 3 yet. The outer display I hardly use cause it is not big like the inner display and keyboard cramped lol😉

Isn't the whole purpose of this phone the inside screen??? Seems to me if you would rarely use it, you would just get a regular phone and call it a day.

Capacity is going to play a huge factor, but with that kind of capacity, longer term support should be available, as well. Take my Note 9, just "celebrated" its 3rd birthday. I still use it for streaming certain things, sharing duties with my new Note 20, but there's a Missouri Lottery app I've used for a while, and when I opened it to scan some tickets, it said to update, but, it's no longer supported on this device. That kinda sucks. You spend big bucks on a device, it should have the support to make it useful farther down the road.

I would hate to see the price of a 1TB iphone. It'll be justified though since it's a iPhone, it's memory perfected.

I think the aesthetic with the crease is very similar to the aesthetic surrounding the hole punch notch and wider notches as well. I think for some, those kinds of things "fade away", like you mentioned.

Crease is a non factor especially the more you use the phone... I'm mainly a open phone use person.. I have no issues full open mode while outside.. It's funny seeing people's reactions while I'm holding it one handed...

The Fold3 is my first foldable phone. While I wasn't really worried about the crease, I'm very happy to say that it's a complete non-issue. When looking straight down on the screen it's almost never visible at all.

Just because you don't have an issue with it doesn't mean others won't have an issue with it. I've played with the Z Fold 3 at Best Buy and the crease was very visible. It's there.

It may bother you, it's really a non issue. The hole punch out is more of a issue for me. I will see how the Spen will be effected by the crease.
