I do have a few questions but I did find this funny, that this is my first unlocked, or flashable phone since my palm pre. Boy do I miss that phone. Still way ahead of it's time. I have lived on carrier phones since and decided with this purchase I would get an unlocked phone so when we are out of contract in a few months we can skip without being tied to a carrier.

I had hoped for a bloatware free phone. To my surprise I discovered Facebook keeps sprouting up on my phone like a weed. I thought it was deleted 2x. Now I didn't have it on my last phone so it wasnt a migration issue. Another weeding issue is LinkedIn. That needed some plucking. I was aware I would need to trim Samsung and Microsoft and google and other stuff I dont need.

So I plan on enabling my google voice to use as voicemail and as of now my phone says wifi calling is enabled. I have tried for years to get google voice to work. It did for a while and then verizon wasnt making enough money so they cut the strings. I wouldn't pay for voicemail. Seems stupid to me especially with google voice being better and free as long as the carrier gets out of the way. If wifi calling works what am I missing with an unlocked phone?

I too still miss the Palm Pre lol best phone there ever was, shame it was exclusive to Sprint at the beginning. It could have been a real player otherwise. I love my Note 10+ but bought the Verizon phone. I bought it outright tough with the discounts and money I had laid back it was not too bad. I am chicken to go unlocked. I am using CCSWE Software manager to tweak a few things without having to root. The paid app I think will let you hid some of the apps. and disable some also. I am also using a Samsung app called Good Lock. Both are available in Google Play. Neither one require root. Enjoy your phone.

i had good lock on my s9plus for a spell, never put it to its paces. in the past, on verizon, i used other apps to disable apps. I thought the whole point of an unlocked phone was to be able to do this out of the box.

I will make the most of it. I will do what I can and download or disable what isnt needed. I have already butted heads with secure wifi, which I wasn't sure what it was or how to get rid of.

Well if I didnt enjoy being able to personalize these things I would own an iphone.... no thanks

I have nothing to contribute other than to say I loved my Palm Pre phone too!! I waited for hours in a long line at a Sprint store to be among the first to have one. The 2 piece sliding screen/keyboard design was so cool. The card view was so cool. Alas, the minimal RAM memory was not so cool, as the phone kept crashing from having too many apps open in the background, haha! I used to also have 3 generations of the Palm Treo phones too! I missed the "real" qwerty keyboard on my Treos!

erm,you can disable facebook and linkedIn using adb...thats what i did.

You can still use Google Voice just input your GV number in the VM settings and Call Forwarding Settings.

And of course make sure your Verizon number is setup in your Call Fowarding settings in GV.
