Hi. I just got a Galaxy watch and have a few questions. My first one is about the stairs tracking. Is it just me, or does this watch want you to work really hard to get your stairs count up? I have a two-story house, and I walk up and down stairs several times per day, and it always says 0 floors climbed. Also I sometimes do a 30-floor stair exercise, where I climb between 30-35 flights of stairs...but the watch says only 21 floors, what's the deal? I understand that it has to be 10 ft, but I am definitely climbing 10 ft+ and it's failing to register.

Also, does the automatic workout detection work only for running? Neither my 30 flight stair workout, nor doing burpees, seems to kick it off.

Floors tracking is definitely a weak spot on all Samsung watches. It gives me floors when I haven't climbed any, and sometimes doesn't count stairs I've climbed.

As for as auto workout detection head over to the settings of the Samsung Health app and ensure you have it enabled for dynamic activities. It doesn't auto track flights climbed or burpees specifically though.

And welcome to Android Central!

Hey thanks! This is a great forum here, happy to join.

I just checked and I do have dynamic workout detection enabled. Do you know how that works exactly? Is it just looking for increased heart rate?
Here it says that you have to workout for 10 minutes in order for it to be detected: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...port%2Fanswer%2FANS00083510%2F&token=t7VRIjpE
Does that mean that the first 10 minutes of the workout would not be recorded, or does it still record and include those first 10 mins I wonder?
It detected me running after only about a minute when I saw it work the first time and I was pretty impressed.

After reading around on the forums, I saw a post that said to try changing your goal setting for flights climbed and then rebooting. I did this and it worked, awesome! Apparently the fix is only temporary, though so let's see how long it lasts.

The time backpedals to include the first 10 minutes. I believe it uses all the sensors, not just heart rate to detect for auto workouts. Sorry it took me a bit to reply. I got busy at the first of the year.

Can someone tell me about S-Health and why me and my friend have the same version and hers shows healthy pace steps plus regular steps and mine just shows steps and doesn't say healthy pace. Like we both walked for an hour and hers showed healthy for what she walked in that hour and then the whole total steps which included just her walking around the house. We've checked all settings and I can't figure it out. Sorry for writing on an old thread I didn't want to start a new one. Thanks!

Was the walk for her (and you) recorded as a workout? Was it manually started or automatically deleted?

I also bought a watch to motivate myself to do sports, but it didn't work, haha. Indeed, I also noticed that I could climb many stairs, but it shows me that I rose very few on my watch. The number was even in half. I know that many people have this problem, and so far, I do not know the cause and how it can be solved. The clock put me in such a depressing situation, and I decided to do sports and motivate myself without it. I ordered Best Fat Burner For Women from https://www.healthcanal.com/, and besides that, I started doing sports. It was great without my watch, haha.
