This method worked to get rid of the LG logo boot hang that came with VC update via the LG Update tool. (I was on VC and TR1.7).

I did this from stock recovery and V9 ROM.

##[MSL CODE]#

You will need your MDN and MSID numbers.

This was done with a Sprint CSR helping. I think they reset the phone remotely using this. It does not seem to work on it's own so you will have to call Sprint.

It cleared up the LG Logo hang. I tested by powering down and powering back on. Cleared LG logo into Spring boot animation then Android loading to lock screen.

Hope this helps someone with the same issues.

Okay, I'm still confused. People (myself included) are having issues with the VC update and LG Logo hang (no matter what ROM or Custom Recovery is used). However, your posts seem to indicate that you were having the issue with the stock recovery and V9 ROM too? Is that the case?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is: did you enter this code while you were STILL USING the VC update with TR 1.7, or were you already back on V9 with the stock recovery before you did this with the CSR?

Big difference, because I believe that most of us with the VC LG Logo hang problem are already able to fix it just by going back to V9. The problem is getting a fix that enables us to still use the VC update.

I was on V9 and TR 1.6.2. Smooth and no problems. Updated to VC using LG update tool and flashed TR 1.7. I got the LG logo hang.

Unrooted back to V8 using the unroot guide, updated to V9 with stock recovery usig Zefies steps. Still had the LG logo hang.

Called Sprint and the method above worked to clear the LG logo hang. I was on stock V9 ROM and recovery at this point.

Now, do I update to VC OTA or use the LG update tool again and get the hang bug again?

I think they just asked you to manually provision your phone by using the MSL.

##139245# AFAICT is not a special generic ## code for Optimus phones (like ##DATA# or ##RTN#). It is just ##[your MSL]#, which is what they tell you to do if Hands Free Activation isn't working (HFA does the same thing, but it is automated through the network)

If this is what fixed your phone, you theoretically should have been able to fix it using ##786# reset also and allowing HFA to do its thing (making sure you had stock recovery installed so there is no hang from the reset)

##786# asks for a service code to proceed.

I think you are implying that what you posted doesn't require your service code. Actually what Sprint gave you WAS your service code. It won't work for anyone else. Service code and MSL refer to the same thing.

In your case you would enter 139245 to get ##786# reset to work.
