I have a Moto stylus that just recently got updated to Android 12 (huge mistake, I know) and I've had an unfortunate encounter with one of the "features". When I turn the phone so the screen faces down, the phone times out a lot faster than it is supposed to. My current screen timeout is set to 5 minutes, but when the screen faces down it dims after 5 seconds and turns off after another 5-7 seconds. I've experimented around, it doesn't happen when I leave the phone face up but cover the screen, but it turns off if I hold it face down but hold it above the ground, so it's definitely not a proximity sensor thing, and I suspect it has to do with whatever internal gyroscopic system the phone has for checking orientation. What's frustrating about this feature is that my phone's orientation check doesn't always work properly, so sometimes it assumes the phone is in an orientation it is not. I have had to disable auto screen rotation because of this and now my phone will sometimes try to timeout while I'm in the middle of doing something on my phone because it incorrectly assumes the phone is facing down.
Is there a way to disable this feature? I have both Attentive Display and Flip to DND turned off but that doesn't fix the issue.
