FLASH 10.2 available in the market Mar. 18th

According to this [URL="https://forums.androidcentral.com/e?link=https%3A%2F%2Fclkde.tradedoubler.com%2Fclick%3Fp%3D264355%26a%3D3068880%26g%3D22804962%26epi%3DUUacUvbUpU709254%26epi2%3Dvbac%26url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.adobe.com%252Fproducts%252Fflashruntimes.html%26ourl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.adobe.com%252Fflashplatform%252Fcertified_devices%252Fsmartphones.html%2522&token=ngjakAwD]list[/URL], doesn't seem like our phone is supported.

We can't run Flash due to hardware limitations, (namely, Adobe won't compile the damn thing for our ARMv6 processors, I think). It doesn't matter what software you are on...if the chip won't run it you're boned.

...the article states that if your phone runs 2.2(froyo) or 2.3(gingerbread) your good to go...

Perhaps the article was changed since you made your post. It states:

A number of smartphones running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) meet the hardware requirements.

I don't think so. I got that list from the article. If you look right after that sentence, it says

We can keep checking that list to see if it'll update with new devices, but as shortyjacobs said, we probably won't be able to use it since we don't have the necessary hardware that's compatible with Adobe at the moment.

Just as promised, it (finally) includes support for Android 3.0, meaning you can now watch South Park, Conan, or any other Flash video on your XOOM. Artem and I briefly played with it on our XOOMs, but, unfortunately, we discovered that the experience wasn’t without its flaws – video quality wasn’t exactly top-notch, some controls were hard to utilize, and no, Hulu still doesn’t work.

On the upside, both of us were able to download, install, and use the APK on our XOOMs even though they weren’t running the latest 3.0.1 firmware update.

As a reminder, Flash 10.2 also brings enhanced performance for multi-core smartphones like the Atrix 4G and the LG Optimus 2X, as well as automatic soft keyboard support and deeper integration with the Android browser rendering engine.

We don't really know if we have the necessary hardware from a technical/performance perspective. We just know we don't have hardware upon which Adobe is willing to build/compile flash for.

Just to give people an answer, I tested the leaked apk (Android Central's home page today) and it does NOT work on the Optimus S - as I expected. Figured it wouldn't hurt to try, maybe it would have done something...

Guys, as much hope as there is, Adobe has no immediate plans to support arm6 processors (what we have). That means, no matter how many updates they push out, it will never work on our phones (even if you're able to install the apk). Sorry to be the party pooper, but that's just the way it is.. Sucks, but our phones just aren't as powerful as Adobe would like them to be for the full flash experience. But yes, skyfire always comes through in the clutch when needed..

Adobe released Wallaby today which translates flash over to HTML5 for websites to convert themselves into iPhone/iPad compatible sites. So Apple has officially won the Flash war with Adobe and we may be able to benefit from something on iFruit phone. Ironic, is it not?

You seem to have misinterpreted my post in an interesting way.

I began my post by quoting sgtlange, because I was responding to his post, not yours.

I then quoted a portion of the article (with emphasis added) that says simply having 2.2 or 2.3 does not mean a phone can run Flash 10.2; there are additional hardware requirements.
Based on your response, I'm not sure what you thought I was suggesting.
