flash ROM's and kernels without using my computer?

Is it safe to flash ROM's and kernels without using my computer? Sorry if this is a noobish question but I posted earlier about how to root and someone said i can do it through my phone. I did it and all seems well but i was just curious as to whether or not this could brick my phone if i decide to flash other roms

You can do it with out a computer. Just make sure that you have a complete download every time. The browsers are a little flaky and sometimes don't properly download which can definitely give you some issues. Again, it is possible but be extremely careful.

To be sure the download is good, and I'm assuming you are using a Mac, couldn't you download to Mac,
pop card from phone, copy to card from Mac, install back in phone and run?????
