Could someone point me in the right direction of how to do this? I have been searching but could not find any answers. Most threads that I have found link to myrootedandroid dot com but this site is no longer.

I bought a DroidX from craigslist that turned out to have a bad ESN. My brother uses cricket and if I can get this phone to work on Cricket he will buy it from me. I would like to have everything working. The cricket store told him they could only flash it, but it would only be able to make calls and text. I have heard the DX can be flashed to Cricket and be fully functional (maybe without mms but mms is not that big of a deal)

If there is already a thread started on this topic, I am sorry, please direct me in the right direction and delete this one.

Thanks!

Don't be a jerk, a Google search is hardly a point in the right direction. I too plan on flashing a sprint phone to cricket myself, I do not want to pay someone 50 bucks for something I can do myself. If you have a point in the RIGHT direction, please do so.

If I may...
Thanks for posting in here again as I feel terrible that I havent heard from the Wildman in such a long time, possibly since that last 2/2011 post lol wassup Wildman hows HTC treating you?

Next, in defense of his post and your reaction calling him a jerk about it. Seeing how you have 1 post that might mean you were not here with us back in that time of the forums as that is how the environment was. So many newbies flooded the scene we were being overwhelmed from what we were already deeply involved in. Yes a little disorderly, but we were acting in the simplest way we knew how and it was found that wasnt the best approach. So the moderators took care of that. We are back in full friendly helpful form.

Which leads me to your assistance. Flashing a Droid X to Cricket used to be a tricky situation. There were many failures, and there were many successes. You can do some forum lurking about it("Droid X to Cricket 2010/2011")to see what people did and what they didnt. Once you make up your mind, go chat with the live assistance folks at cricketusers.com and they can and will walk you through it. They are hard to catch online I have heard but its worth a shot if you guys decide to flash yourselves to the chirping insect carrier.

You are right jersey boy, but I am only new to this forum. I have helped in other forums before, xda for a few years, but I saw this post (after doing a web search) and found this post... Interesting that I would be pointed here only to be told to use google. I prefer yahoo even though knowing sometimes google produces more results. I just despise hearing "google it". I understand newbs flooding threads and creating new ones only to find out that there was already a post on it, I too am looking for that post. After searching for a post thru many many others one gets called a troll.

I have been in the computer business for years and am new to Android, this part anyway. I took a class on programming awhile back but didn't care for it.

So thank you Jersey for some sort of information.

Also, I found a way to flash by changing the APNs file on the ssytem paritition of said android phone, but I also read that a factory reset changes that flash.
I also could not find an apns file (on my cricket droid) to get the correct setings just to play around with it.

I found a post on Ehow, that tells you to find a pro to do it for you. Kid of another stupid answer IMO.

Another site that shows how to put Flash on a phone. (not what I wanted either)

I was told by a friend that maybe it would work by flashing a cricket Rom on the phone, I don't think that would work either.
Any thoughts? It would aslo have to be the same phone cricket has to be able to get a Rom right? Well I am trying to flash a Kyocera Echo and they do not have that phone. I have seen phones for sale that are already flashed to cricket, but people want 300 bucks for them. I can buy the Echo on Ebay for 80, why would I want to pay 300?

Most authorized dealers in my area charge about $20 and get MMS working. Corporate stores will not do it. Call around. $20 is well worth it.
