I just noticed my camera flash isn't working for normal mode. It works for selfie mode. Please help!

When you tap on the camera icon, look for "mode". It should be set for auto. Also look for a "lightning bolt" at the top of the screen. It should have a letter "A" next to it. Try those settings.

Which camera app you use?
Providing some more info about the phone (Model, ROM, android version...) would help also.

Stock and Xcam apps doesn't have "selfie" mode, and in normal mode you have separate flash controls (off, on, auto). Have you checked that?

There is a selfie mode within the camera app. Tap on camera app, middle icon at top of screen is a camera with arrows around it. Tap on that, and look at yourself in the phone's screen. I'm completely stock, on 5.0.1.

Actually, you are talking about front camera, and yes, it can be used for selfies, but if we use term "mode", than front camera has two modes: "Dual" and "Auto", and back camera has four modes.
Jmathewg was refering that his flash is working in "selfie" mode, and if he uses the same term like you for the front camera, that is very strange because it doesnt have real flash at all. Flash can be used just with the back camera.
