Hi all. Today I followed a tutorial on htconeroot.com and flashed a 4.4. Kit at ROM and radio zip file. Max Lee said if you did not flash the new radio, your device would get stuck on a boot loop. Well I flashed both in recovery using the latest twrp. My device is stuck in a boot loop. I get the google splash screen and then am stuck on the 4 coloured dots. Does anyone know how I can correct this. I have s-off BTW. Thanks.

Performing restore right now. I would still like to install a kitkat ROM sometime soon.

Well, I managed to get the ROM flashed onto my phone. I tried and restored twice before finally succeeding. I sure like this Google play edition ROM a lot.

Thanks Wizzrah! I am quite happy with it. I even received the 4.4.2 update yesterday.

I have an HTC one with the full conversion on GPE . First time booting to OS I had to flash boot.img to get past the colored dot screen. Did you do that?

I did not. I have s-off on my device. I got the ROM from htconeroot.com.

You only need to do this if you have S-ON. If you get S-OFF, flashing the boot.img is not necessary.

When I did the conversion, I was S-Off, unlocked, rooted , supersu, and TWRP recovery. Flashed the GPE and got the google bootloader with 1.55 hboot. but still had to flash the boot.img to get past the boot screen the first time. I didn't like the google rom so went back to Elegancia for a custom. I still have the google bootloader and every thing seems to be working just fine .

Usually S-OFF fixes the flash boot.img thing, but I guess the GPE is special...

Yeh, I know about the S-Off thing, I did that on my HTC One X and the HTC One. But , when I converted the HTC One to the GPE , things changed . I had to use a updated SuperSU file that was still in testing to get the permanent root and super user. The GPE even acts a little different with the conversion, I don't know if the real factory GPE is the same or not ,but the conversion isn't too bad. Just a little bit testy in some of the rooting stuff.

Well I had a major problem with my phone last night. I was watching you tube videos on my break no problem. When I returned to my work area, I tried to listen to music but got no sound. Now I have no volumes on any app or ringtone. It just vibrates even though the status bar says it is on high. Also a lot of my apps close OK n there own or get hung up trying to load. I wonder if reflashing the ROM and radio will get it back to speed?

One more thing. When I went to restore my device I could not find my previous back up. This happened also on my one x. Is there a special place in twrp when it is stored? All I could find is the back up that I made last night. Thanks

I believe you run a RUU while converting and if so thats where your back up went.

yes, if you RUU then you wipe the entire phone and return to factory for that RUU. If you had TWRP and had a backup it would be in TWRP>Backups>then a folder with your serial number or phone Id on it >then the backups you have made. When connected to the PC you can run down the "tree" and find the TWRP folder there and keep breaking it down until you get to the backup you wish. BTW if your not familiar with it , i would make a folder on your desktop such as "HTC One , then sub folder, "backups" and copy and past into that folder just in case there are mistakes such as loosing or wipeing clean the phone.
