Flashing location icon

If this has been posted here already please direct me to it but this is sucking the life out of my battery. Sometimes it's shaded and sometimes it's bold even with location turned off.

Is your Location Service set to Battery Saving (i.e., the GPS radio turned off)?

Also, go to Settings>Location, tap Menu>Scanning, and make sure wi-fi scanning is turned off. This might also be in the Advanced Wi-fi menu (Settings>Wi-fi, tap Menu>Advanced). If this setting is on, it allows the phone to turn on wi-fi intermittently to try to get more location information from nearby wi-fi networks, even if you have wi-fi turned off.

Hmm, not sure then. It's not rooted, right?

There's been several reports floating around similar to this, mine included. There's a bug where the location icon will stick on and possibly the GPS sensor when location is set to GPS or high accuracy. Sometimes activating Maps or another GPS based app, then closing will let the icon go away. Other times you have to reboot the phone to reset the icon. Once gone, switch to battery saving in the location settings to prevent the GPS sensor from turning on and getting stuck again.

Updated yesterday and it seems to have solved the problem.
