Fluidity of the pixel?

I have the note 5 and am really tempted to get this phone. I haven't got a chance to play with it yet but is it really that much better than the note 7 or any other android phones in terms of fluidity and app optimization? Or is it just an exaggeration? For example, scrolling in Instagram on my note 5 feels sluggish. When you scroll and touch the screen to stop, it won't stop immediately. Same with browsing the web on the stock samsung browser and chrome. Does the pixel have these little lag issues as well?

I've only had mine for about 9 hours, but in the time I've had it, I have noticed almost no signs of lag. Instagram and Chrome are both buttery smooth.

If you are used to Samsung phones yes it's a difference, but not that much compared to S7, Note 7. Samsung improved this year but still was experiencing stutters regularly. If you did notice that then Pixel until now doesn't stutter. Will it be the same after months of use, not sure but at this point yes this is the smoothest android phone and as it should be running SD 821 and stock Android.

Just picked one up today.
Pixel.
So much more fluid than my s7.
I could never keep the s7 now.
Putting it on Swappa right now.

I had the note 7 and it stuttered quite a bit. I loved the phone but I was disappointed in the lag I would experience. Now the Pixel xl I've been using since yesterday performs like what a flagship should perform. To me it's crazy how much smoother it is compared to the note 7. Now I also had the s7 edge and even that phone was smoother than the note 7.

I'm another that had the Note 7. The difference is significant. Pixel is by far the fastest and smoothest Android phone I've ever used. I've had it since the day before the official release on Verizon and have not noticed the slightest bit of stutter, jank, lag, choppiness, or whatever else you want to call it. It's that smooth.

My S7 edge is put to shame by my Pixel. 5X was bootlooped so I got a new in box S7 edge loaner from T-Mobile, so this wasn't an issue of built up lag over months of use as sometimes happens. S7 stuttered a lot compared to even my 5X, but compared to the Pixel it's laughable.

Fourth day with Pixel, yet to see one tiny instance of the lag/jank/stutter found in ALL other Android phones. Nothing. Perfectly fluid.

This is the reason this phone is not even remotely overpriced.

I never understood the remarks about three Pixel bring overpriced. It offers a lot of features, has great build quality, and comes with unlimited storage of pictures and videos at original resolution. And it's priced comparable to other flagship devices. The price is justified in my opinion. I paid more for my Note 7 than this phone and my experience with the Pixel has been better.

Same. My n7 had some jank even before I installed apps. It wasn't smooth, I actually ended up having 3 n7's and all of them had some stuttering. I would have lived with it but I was very irritated with the money I spent for an incremental upgrade. I would be out on a walk/hike streaming music to my Bluetooth and try to snap a picture... Literally, the phone wouldn't respond. This happened with all three of the units I had (since this is a replicate-able issue, I knew) because it's something I do every time I walk. This just wasn't acceptable.

I am a little worried about the things we CAN'T do, like multiple Bluetooth connections? I have several Bluetooth devices connected to my phones. Even my n3 is handling them just fine. Fitbit, LG tones, my s2 classic - all connected and working. Is this not possible on the GPXL? these are the things that are not personal preferences, rather functionality that should be implemented.

I think it comes down to relatively bland looking hardware combined with no ip67/8 or Qi charging. If any of those 3 things change the phone shakes the too expensive name-tag immediately.

I will test this in 20 minutes. I was not aware this was an issue...

By the way, anyone want to try my experiment?

Specifically, I was using Slacker radio, paired with LG tones... Get it all fired up, then launch the camera and snap some pix... Would love for you to screen record it while you do it. I used the same variables in each device (including the predecessor, n5) and it was so slow and unresponsive that I resigned to never using the phone while I walked (which, yes, would probably be a good idea anyway, but really? It's 2016. #dontjudge)

I've sold cell phones the last five years through my college days

Note 7 is in my opinion the best phone ever made. There's no comparison to me with any other device. I've never had such a quick response time from a device with minimal lag like I've experienced with my note 7

I haven't received my xl yet but with the note 7 travel ban I'm convinced this one isn't far behind after playing with it a decent amount

The Note 7 was a great device. I hope Samsung is able to reestablish the line. The Pixel was smoother and faster in my opinion. But it lacks a lot of features the Note 7 had.

Wait until you use the Pixel.

Got it three days ago. Wow, amazing!

The experience is incredible, apps seemed to be integrated much better for nougat and everything is smooth. I have no complaints about the phone at all

Just the price, for me... I should have gotten 128gb for what we paid for the 32.

Yeah I hear ya.

The way I look at it, I paid $850 for a note 7 that was a pain in my ***. Paying 870 for a pixel that I like more is okay (never used, wireless charging or water resistance)

Me either... And yes, the n7 was gorgeous but the Pixel blows it away in real world performance......
