I think that's what it's called I need a device that will plug into my radio and play the music through my speakers. Price isn't a problem just a good one. Can somebody point me into the right direction.

I would only use an FM transmitter if it's the only way that will work with your radio.

Does your radio have an auxiliary in port? If so, you can use a simple audio cable with 3.5mm plugs on each end. You can get one of these for less than 5 bucks.

Do you have a tape player? If so, you can get a cassette adapter.

If by chance your radio has Bluetooth A2DP compatibility you can connect that way without having to buy anything.

If none of those options will work for you, then an FM transmitter is your last resort.

I use one of these in my work truck and it works great. However, it doesn't work for crap in my car.

There are tons of them on ebay and amazon. Jabra makes the Cruiser (decent) and the Cruiser 2, Motorola makes a couple also. I have them both and the allow you to use your car speakers for conversations as well as streaming media.

What is sad about the Evo is that the FM chip in it also has transmitting abilities but the hardware/software support does not exist.

If you have a Aux port, search for "bluetooth receiver". This will just plug into the aux port and you send the signal from your phone. I have one from BluBridge, works great. No more cables....

the difference is where the antenna is placed on your car, if its on the front then you will most likely not run into connection problems, in the back your going to have fuzz and static and problems daily.

If you have to go with an FM transmitter -- I've been there before, and again, it's my only option in my current car unless I get the head unit replaced -- get one manufactured by Aerielle Technologies. They have their own branded models, but they've also produced them for other companies as well. I had a Kensington Aerielle transmitter several years ago for an iPod, and it worked amazingly well.

I have a Dynex (from Best Buy) one made by Aerielle. It's got a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB port so you can charge at the same time, albeit you have to use the two separate cables to do both. The sound quality is phenomenal as far as transmitters are concerned. I can use pretty much any frequency I want; it blocks out all but the strongest broadcasts. Model number is DX-FMDC1. I'm pretty sure they've been discontinued, but you can get one on eBay for $10 or less. I was lucky enough to get mine for $5.
