Got my 64GB Graphite 6P on Thurs 10/29, spent the entire day configuring. Took my first photo on Fri morning, BIG PROBLEM. The thing won't focus. I thought I was trying to focus on something too close (1 foot) so I went outside and took a photo of my backyard. Same problem, it came out blurry as hell. The default was 4:3 12.3 MP, so I changed it to 16:9 8.3 MP, no difference. I think I have a bad camera in this unit. Anyone else have this problem?

UPDATE: Called Customer Service 11/1, they are sending me a new unit.

Do you have a case on the phone? Some of them are covering the laser autofocus.

No case yet, I ordered one but not here yet. I was hoping there was a plastic strip that I forgot to peel off, but sadly, there isn't.

No issues here with focus. If you're not using a case you might need to RMA for a new one.

Call to Customer Service, went through a few tests and settings, but the rep concluded that the rear camera focusing is defective. The front camera focused fine. So I have an RMA and they are sending me a new 6P. Let the waiting game begin again!!

Totally amazed! I submitted the RMA on Sunday 11/1, got a shipping notice on Mon 11/2, FedEx email on Tue 11/3, and a NEW 6P was delivered on Wed 11/4. THAT is customer service! As soon as it booted, I took a photo of my keyboard, and it focuses fine! Wow!
THANKS, Google!

I just got bit by the focus bug. The camera worked fine for about a week and I took some really good pictures. But today when I tried to snap a pic, the screen wouldn't focus. I noticed that when I launched the camera app, there's a popping sound coming from the rear camera unit. So I'm returning the phone for a replacement. Hopefully this is just a one-time thing and not a defect with the entire line.
