Folder preview grid 3x3 but folder grid 4x4

[Android Central Question]

Hi,

After the last update the folder grid is changed. The preview of a folder on the home screen is 3x3 and when you open the folder it's 4x4 and therefore the apps changed position compared to what you would think.
It wasn't like that before the update... Is there a way to change this back to the old setting of 3x3 or maybe the preview 4x4 to illustrate the actually folder structure?

It is a Samsung S7 and I'm not sure which version number I'm looking for and I can't copy from the phone itself - so here's a screenshot.

I have the same issue and it is very annoying.
i found no way so far to change the folder back to 3x3
