I thought I would share this with the community because of the possibility that some (like me) cancelled their ATT early and switched to Sprint for the Evo.
I had about 4 months left (ETF is about $80) and cancelled for the Evo, because I would make that money back with the cheap Sprint service and wanted the new toy.
Recently got a bill from ATT charging me for 6/1-7/2 (apparently this is another gay ATT policy, where if you cancel early they will charge you for the full month's bill for the last billing cycle) and when I called to dispute it, the rep waived the ETF, prorated June bill to 6/1-6/4 and when the balance came out to $2.03 HE WAIVED THAT TOO!
So I basically was able to cancel and swap without having to pay ATT a dime, and cant believe that when I decide to leave ATT, they were completely fair and helped me out big time.
I have my fingers crossed that the Evo battery and WiFi issues will be resolved or I may be returning it for a new iPhone. Yes the new iPhone isnt that impressive, but at least the battery life will be better than the mere 6-7hrs I'm currently getting.
For those that cancelled early, I would suggest calling ATT and trying to get everything wavied.
