For the price, V20 is not worth it.

Former Note 7 user.

I just don't get it. $830 and it's not even water resistant. It's an LCD screen! The battery doesn't last as long as it IDEALLY should for a phablet. The camera is good, but not great. The keyboard is a nightmare to use.

I've owned Samsungs, HTC's, and nearly every brand in between. I bought this phone after reading and watching reviews, and I remained skeptical. I bought it because I thought it would be something that would grow on me. I went to the Note 7 forum and noticed a lot of former users jumped on the V20 wagon.

I don't get it. What is everyone seeing in this phone that I don't? If this thing were maybe in the $600's, I'd say that's a solid deal. But this thing is being marketed and sold as an $830 device, and it certainly doesn't feel like one to me.

That's because you bought from AT&T. BTW.... None of these phones are worth that kind of money.

Probably not. I got it on JUMP. I'm actually thinking of back jumping to the S7E Blue Coral when it comes out.

Well, I came from Note 7 myself

This phone sold me out with Hi-Fi audio on board. As for price tag, $830 is regular price for a flagship with some pro and con. In the end, we just have ..........to.........

Removable battery door

It's an LCD screen!

Doesn't burn in

Doesn't blow up

The camera is good, but not great.
Wide angle shots and manual modes

The keyboard is a nightmare to use.
SwiftKey

Why do people buy? It's the next closest option. High quality build. Excellent audio. IR blaster. Second screen. Nougat.

You should probably get an S8 or Pixel

I love this phone. I also feel great about getting the $200 for an old G2 I had laying around and it's wonderful that I'm getting another $150 item to go with the phone for free. That's $350 off the early adopter price of a flagship phone. All high end devices are expensive. I have zero buyers remorse. This phone is big beautiful feature rich and absolutely Flys. If you don't see the value in it then move into something else. It obviously isn't for you.

Generally, I'm quite happy with the V20. I like the dual cameras and the fully manual photo, video and audio settings.

A user-replaceable battery is a must for me, I had my Note 4 for 2 years and during that time, I wore out two batteries because I used it so much. Had the battery not been replaceable, I would have had to essentially throw the phone away after the first year. I had a Note 7 and was concerned about not being able to easily replace the battery, although, as it turns out, that was the least of my Note 7 battery worries.

I don't have a problem with the LCD display, sure the blacks aren't completely black but I think the color is more natural (the AMOLED screens seem to be a bit over-saturated) the V20 display is plenty bright. I didn't like the curved screen on the Note 7 (or the S7 Edge), it distorts photos and videos and it really bugged me.

The built-in speaker is acceptably loud and the quad-DAC sounds amazing driving a variety of high-end ear-buds and headphones. (I'm a professional recording engineer, so this actually matters to me and the difference is not subtle.)

I do miss the notification LED of my Samsung phones but I'm getting used to the second screen, it's more useful than I thought it would be.

The V20 is plenty snappy and I put a 256 gig SD card in it so I have plenty of storage for now. I can make it all day on a charge but I have chargers all over the place, so I can top it off if I need to.

I paid $662 through Verizon and overall I feel that I got decent value for my money.

The Axon 7 have better audio than the V20 and only cost $399
Where did you get this information from? It seems questionable. The Axon 7 has a better DAC and headphone amp than the ESS Sabre 9218? I'd very interested to read about that. I had the Axon 7 for a couple of days. Other than the unmarked non-backlit capacitive buttons it is a nice phone and I read that it does indeed have better than average audio. All for $400. It is a great deal.

Is the V20 worth $830? Is a Lamborghini Aventador worth upwards of $400,000 when a $200,000 Porsche can equal or beat it? Is a Louis Vuitton really worth more than a Coach? ...had that discussion with my husband recently. Is an F35 really worth what it costs? Much more than an F22 Raptor? ...don't even get me started on that.

The V20 is LG's current flagship. Is it perfect? Is the Aventador? No. But they're quite nice.
I've seen headphones for $ 4 , 0 , 0 , 0 . Hard for me to believe even the best planar magnetic are truly worth that but they're the Audeze's flagships and I think I'd rather have the HiFiMan HE 1000 for $2,400.

Things cost more than they should. Those that can sometimes pay the unjustified price. Why should smartphones be any different?

Well said.

I thought this site was here to help those with a particular device not to throw stones at one device while moving to another. Everyone's taste is different that's what's so great about Android. Let's help and guide the ones on the fence about a phone or accessories for that particular device. If you get another device go to that section and comment there.
I do see everyone's point all devices are too expensive, but for me it's worth it. I do a lot of research before making a purchase and over the last year the V10 and now the V20 fill the bill for me. Everytime I pay my bill and start to complain I realize this thing is with me all day and night I carry it everywhere. It has made my busy life so much easier and then I press the "send funds" button.
I'll stop here before I go down the rabbit hole again.
I would like to thank all those here on the forum for all the questions y'all answered for me and I didn't even have to ask the question.

Right on. 👍👍👍

Verizon has the phone priced at $672. You should be more angry at yourself for choosing a provider like T Mobile.

Lol and Verizon has that high bill every month too makes you wonder why you pick them too 😂😂😂😂😂

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. After all, it's their hard earned money. Sounds like the pixel might be a good fit given the requirements.

Yeah I'm also feeling a little buyer's remorse with the v20, I wish the moto x pure I purchased prior would of held me over til the next note but the battery was trash, I don't want to pay the restocking fee for this phone so I'm probably going to keep it til the next note, are you going to return your phone?

LG have aways left me with a sour taste in mouth with every phone release after the G2.

It's always the same issue, laggy software, unusable keyboard terrible battery life and quite possibly the worst lit screen on the market.
