ah dang it!!!!!!!!! i just flashed my phone back to stock and forgot to nandroid!! oh well, its not like i wasnt gonna flash someting esle i 3 hrs any way.

I've been looking around and I don't think there is an easy answer for the color codes thing, aside from using sh on Android. Unless of course, someone wants to use cygwin

i finally found the time to give the adb rooting a try. i was not sucessful. i followed the instructions exactly. on my second attempt i even copied and pasted instead of typeing it out. both times i got the same thing. i got supuser installed, but i could not give anything su permission. after the superuser.apk was installed i get the sucess notification and then the prompt just sits there with a blinking cursor like its waiting for something. so i wait for like 5 minutes. and nothing. should i wait longer? am i doing something wrong?

This guide was the original that Dirrk posted on the Fascinate and it has the manual method posted for rooting with adb.

i flashed the stock dl09 package and this worked great. at the very end when you get the sucess and the cursor just blinks. i had to wait about 5 minutes then disconnect and reconnect the phone to the pc for it to work. also as i found out in other adb ventures dont mount the sd card.
