For those looking at all the complaints and wondering whether to make the leap...

Finally! Good reviews!

I previously owned a DInc which was pretty amazing and got me use to the Sense UI, but this phone is certainly light years ahead even if it doesn't look that way on paper. The phone is fast, responsive, cranks out great sound especially with the rear speaker exposed, and has mass amounts of storage. Great posts you guys.

I LOVE MY BOLT! I'm coming from a Blackberry Storm and so I really appreciate all that the Thunderbolt has to offer. Like someone else said, is it perfect? No, what phone is? It's a new product, on a new network, I fully expected it was going to have issues. What I've come across so far doesn't bother me much and I get a lot of help here dealing with whatever I need.

Those that have had Androids in the past are bound to be the most critical because they now compare with other Android phones. I think that's just normal and I'm not faulting them one bit. When you're coming from the lack of speed and other issues from the Storm 1 my Thunderbolt wins hands down.

I have to agree my battery life wasn't great originally but then I was on it constantly so how could it be good? I think mine is also getting better. I'm still on it LOTS but yesterday I actually turned it completely off to charge it for about six hours. That charge lasted about 7 hours with some pretty heavy use. Then I plugged it in while running and continued to use it for the rest of the morning after taking it off the charger about 45min later, it got more use than it will get once I get used to it and get what I want on it and I'm down to regular use - right now it's getting a lot of use - more than I'd normally use it. Battery is still showing green :) I really wish I could turn it off and plug it in and leave it alone for 24 hours and see if that makes a difference but it's my only phone so I can't. I was considering going with an extended battery but I think I'll wait a bit, this one might do me just fine.

Everyone has different needs and wants - this phone will please many and displease many just like any other phone. I'll bet even the infamous iPhone gets complaints. If you've never had a Blackberry you can't know the pain of having had a Storm and how my Thunderbolt cured my phone ailments. I'm very happy with mine. I do wish I could find a few apps that work like my Blackberry but I'll keep looking. On the other hand, I've found some very cool ones :) and features on the phone I never dreamed existed.

I was on the fence about the same exact thing. What it came down to was, I preferred an HTC over a motorola, just because I had prior bad experiences with one, and HTC had a better reputation. In any event, I am happy with my decision, regardless of whether it was dual-core or single-core. If you can try both out, I highly suggest you do that. If you can live with certain battery issues, and I have adjusted quite well, then the Thunderbolt wont disappoint.

I got my thunderbolt earlier today after having a HTC droid Incredible and the original Motorola Droid, and I feel exactly the same way. I just prefer HTC's sense adaptation built into the Android OS, and the Thunderbolt just looks plain sexy!:D

my opinion..

Nice Ronin... good to hear from someone with a lot of Droid experience to tell those of us that never owned one confirmation of our choice (especially to get the 'bolt instead of the Bionic)

Hey dutch for the record if the sonic is anything at all like the Droid one and two then you couldn't pay me enough to trade my thunderbolt for it... I'm done with Motorola droids for now if not for good because of the thunderbolt.
